One of the my projects at the parish is rebuilding the church website. I have vision, but unfortunately, not enough experience in multi-administrator site design. So please put on your thinking caps!
If you know anything about online companies who provide very inexpensive web-based design services, please shoot me an email. I have looked at several, but remember I need to set something up that I can leave with people who don’t necessarily know how to do lots of internet tinkering. As trouble-sooting goes, I would also want to be able to log-in from the States in the future, in case they needed my help down the line. It would be really great if I could find a free web-host too, just in case you’re offering. All help is GREATLY appreciated. Once it’s up and running, I look forward to showing it to you!
UPDATE: Thanks to some research from a friend and elder at the church, we did locate a great church website builder located in Glasgow. You can see this developer at adminweb.co.uk or click here to see his portfolio of church sites. I don’t know if he works in other languages, but there is a potential for that.
You can watch the site develop by going to www.troonold.org.uk

I am NOT FREE but my design work and yearly subscription fee is very reasonable. My hosting plan for faith institutions is built around the elegant, simple and easy to use CMSimple CMS. Take a look at http://www.churchwebsitecreator.com and work the demo. My church which I maintain, has a jazzed up interface but runs on the same CMSimple. Take a look at http://www.claridonucc.org – the opening front page is a .shtml file running CGI so that it is editable but all the interior pages use .php files and CMSimple. Great program.
If you are looking for FREE take a look at blogspot. Here is a site that I maintain – http://yourchurchon.blogspot.com and http://wbrandes.blogspot.com – many possibilities. If you know how to work them, you can create all sorts of themes/templates for sites on blogspot. Take a look. William

There are a range of CMS systems that need no tech knowledge. Church123.com is uk based one, though there are zillions in US.
Do also have a look at our ideas for making a site reach outsiders:
